Creative Writing Skills by Lexi Rees #Review #Giveaway
Today, I am happy to take part in a one day blitz to celebrate a great workbook for young writers: Creative Writing Skills by Lexi Rees. There is also the opportunity to win a copy- details on how to enter are at the foot of this post.
What's it about?
Creative Writing Skills has over 70 fun activities for children
- Discover the secrets to becoming an amazing author
- Find your creative spark
- Grow your skills and confidence
- Have more fun with your writing
Packed with top tips, this awesome workbook has everything
you need to know about creating colourful characters, perfect plots, dynamite
dialogue, and lots more …
Aimed at young writers aged from 7+, this workbook not only is full of ideas for starting off writing, but also looks at different aspects of writing and the skills which are needed. It is bright and clearly set out with chapters which focus on characters, descriptions, settings, plans, themes, voices and dialogue, with a final chapter giving story starters where children can put all the skills they have practised into action.
There is a wide spread of subjects which should appeal to children who will be able to find something to spark their imagination. With a page for each task, it has some eye-catching illustrations and is certainly not text heavy. It aims to put some fun and zest into writing and speaks directly to the young writer in clear and unambiguous English.
Cat and Mouse say: get writing!
