Little Mouse's Sweet Treat by Shana Hollowell Illustrated by Jennifer Finch **Review**

Little Mouse's Sweet Treat is a lovely picture book to share with young readers.

It is a cheerful, lyrical story that tells the tale of a little mouse that goes on an adventure in search of something sweet. He meets lots of friends along the way that share their preferred treats with him, but none are quite right. He is disappointed until he arrives home and realizes his Mommy baked the sweetest snack just for him – cookies! Toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergarteners love this book. It makes a great gift.

In Little Mouse's Sweet Treat , young readers will enjoy following Little Mouse in his quest for a sweet treat! It gives the child the opportunity to anticipate which animal they will meet next. Written in rhyming couplets, there is plenty to discuss and it is a great book to share together. With lots of opportunities to talk about the pictures and the rhymimg sounds, there is also a message there about sharing and being patient.

Each page is beautifully illustrated in watercolours and is handpainted by Jennifer Finch. The illustrations beautifully complement the text and young readers will enjoy searching for the little snail.

Cat and Mouse say: follow Little Mouse and find his favourite treat.
